Yokohama has signed a partnership agreement with the Haupt Racing Team (HRT) as part of its effort to achieve victory at the 2025 Nürburgring 24-Hour Race (ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring). This is the second straight year Yokohama has entered into a partnership with HRT.
As part of the Advan Challenge that seeks to maximise sales of Advan tyres, Yokohama is aiming for victories at the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race and Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS). Last year, Yokohama’s support for HRT’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 included the overall championship in NLS Round 4. This year, the Yokohama–HRT partnership is being supported by Ford Performance, the racing division of Ford Motor Company, and Yokohama will supply its Advan racing tyres for the Ford Mustang GT3s that HRT is entering this year’s Nürburgring 24-Hour Race.
HRT was founded in July 2020 by racing driver and entrepreneur Hubert Haupt and quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with in international GT3 racing. HRT won the drivers’ championship in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) series in just its second motorsport season. Since then, HRT has competed in the DTM, NLS, ADAC GT Masters, Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe, Asian Le Mans Series, Creventic 24H Series and the 24-hour races at the Nürburgring and Spa-Francorchamps and achieved victories in many races.
HRT GmbH is based in the Drees industrial estate in the immediate vicinity of the Nürburgring. HRT is also actively involved in the promotion of young talent, covering the entire pyramid of driver development from entry into motorsport in the HRT Kart Team to the highest level of GT racing in the DTM. The team is also a sought-after partner for technical development projects and motorsport events of all kinds.
Ford Performance is returning to the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race for the first time since 2019 and is teaming up with Yokohama for the first time since 2012. Yokohama and Ford Performance will build a strong motorsports relationship in 2025. In addition to collaborating in the Nürburgring 24-Hours, one of the world’s top endurance races, Yokohama will supply Advan racing tyres as control tyres for the Mustang Cup, a new entry-level racing series being launched by Ford Performance in the United States.
Over the years, Yokohama has supported many teams participating in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race, a motorsports event where the world’s leading tyre makers display their tyres’ performance under the most demanding conditions as part of their intense global competition. Cars equipped with Yokohama tyres have won the overall championship three times. In 2023, a car equipped with Yokohama tyres turned in a dominant performance in the NLS, winning five of the nine races as well as the NLS Speed Trophy and the NIMEX Team Trophy in the highest SP9 Pro Class.
