Vipal Rubber is expanding its high-performance portfolio after obtaining another important international acknowledgement. The VT520 tread has received the 3PMSF (Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake) certification, a seal that proves the product’s superior performance in severe snow and low-grip conditions.
More than a visual identification, the certification is the result of rigorous performance tests conducted by qualified laboratories, in compliance with the ECE R109 standard, which regulates the production of retreaded tyres in the European Union. The seal proves the tread’s capacity to offer superior traction and safety in snow surfaces, requiring a significantly higher performance than the M+S (Mud and Snow) standard, a traditional benchmark for mud and snow.
With the certification to VT520, Vipal increases to 19 the number of solutions certified for operations in extreme climate conditions. Currently, the portfolio certified with the 3PMSF seal includes the treads: DV-UM3, DV-UME, VDA4, VDE2, VL105A, VL170A, VM310, VM729, VRT3, VT110, VT115, VT220, VT240, VT250, VT510, VT520, VT540, VT570, and VZU3.
For Rodemir Conte, Product R&D and Industrial Improvement Manager at Vipal Rubber, the acknowledgement reinforces the technical consistency of the products developed by the company. “The 3PMSF certification represents the technical validation of a product that meets the strictest requirements for performance in snow conditions. In the case of VT520, it proves that the tread was designed to deliver traction, stability and safety in low-grip scenarios, maintaining the quality and reliability standard that we look for in our developments.”
In addition to expanding the certified portfolio for markets that require this type of certification, the seal reinforces the company’s strategy to offer solutions that meet international regulatory demands and operating needs from fleets.
