TyreSafe, the UK’s tyre safety charity, is proud to announce a new partnership with Brake, the road safety charity, during this year’s Road Safety Week. The collaboration will focus on the shared goal of preventing road deaths and serious injuries by promoting the vital role of safe and roadworthy vehicles with a special emphasis on tyre safety.
The campaign began on World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (Sunday 16 November), a global event that honours those who have lost their lives or been seriously injured on the roads and recognises the vital work of emergency services and road safety advocates.
Every year, more than 1,600 people are killed and a further 30,000 suffer serious, life-changing injuries on UK roads. Road Safety Week 2025 centres on the message that “Safe vehicles save lives”, raising awareness of how vehicle technology, maintenance, and design can prevent incidents and protect people both inside and outside vehicles.
As part of the national campaign, TyreSafe will contribute by sharing educational materials and resources designed to help drivers, operators, and fleet managers understand their role in keeping vehicles safe and compliant. The charity’s November activities will focus particularly on fleet vehicle safety, encouraging operators to ensure their vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and drivers carry out checks before every journey. TyreSafe are also encouraging businesses to make tyre checks and maintenance a key part of their compliance and risk management processes.
Stuart Lovatt, TyreSafe Chair, said, “We’re delighted to be partnering with Brake for this year’s Road Safety Week. The theme of ‘Safe vehicles save lives’ perfectly complements TyreSafe’s mission to reduce avoidable incidents caused by tyre neglect. Whether you’re managing a fleet or driving your own car, tyre safety is a crucial part of vehicle safety. Properly maintained, legal tyres help prevent crashes, protect everyone on the road, and save lives. By joining forces with Brake, we can amplify this vital message and support the road safety community in making our roads safer for all.”
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment between Brake and TyreSafe to the safe systems approach recognising that safe roads, vehicles, and behaviours must work together to prevent tragedy.
Throughout Road Safety Week, TyreSafe will support Brake’s national campaign by sharing safety messages, tools, and practical advice across its digital channels and through its network of members and supporters.
