TyreSafe marked a significant milestone this week as more than 200 delegates from across the automotive, road safety, enforcement, retail, manufacturing and government sectors gathered at The Belfry for the charity’s 20th Annual Briefing and Awards.
The event attracted record-breaking attendance in its twentieth year, underlining the growing recognition of tyre safety as a critical component of the UK’s road safety agenda and the increasing commitment of organisations across the sector to work together to reduce road casualties.
Throughout the day, delegates heard from leading experts and stakeholders on the challenges and opportunities facing road safety in the years ahead. A recurring theme was the importance of collaboration and speaking with one unified voice to support the ambitious targets outlined within the Government’s recently published National Road Safety Strategy – the first such strategy issued in 15 years.
“This year’s record attendance demonstrates the strength and commitment of the tyre safety and road safety community. As we welcome the first National Road Safety Strategy in 15 years, it is more important than ever that organisations across our sector continue to work collaboratively, share expertise and deliver consistent messages that help save lives. The challenges ahead are significant, but together we have the opportunity to make a lasting difference.”
The annual Briefing was followed by a gala dinner and awards ceremony celebrating outstanding contributions to tyre safety and road safety across the UK. The awards recognise organisations and individuals whose innovation, dedication, partnerships and public engagement are helping to improve safety outcomes for road users nationwide.
Opening the event, TyreSafe Chairman Stuart Lovatt praised the collective efforts of the industry and highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum as the sector enters a new era of road safety policy.
