Mark Adams, founder of Adams Tyre Specialists, was a well-known Beverley personality.
Mark founded Adams Tyre Specialists, in Albion Court, Beverley, in 1969. The company celebrated 50 years in business in October last year.
His son Jon, who entered the family business after leaving school, said the two most important things in his dad’s life were “family and work”. “He and my mother were married for 40 years, they had three children and 12 grandchildren. “He was a proper, full-on, doting grandfather. He was amazing with them and he loved them so much.”
Jon said his dad was “massively committed” to his work. “There were times when he would be out at 1am or 2am for a job,” he said. “From being two years old I was out with him.
Mark had friends across the industry, many of whom remembered Mark as a “real character”. There will be a celebration of Mark’s life at Beverley Minster once lockdown restrictions have been sufficiently lifted.
