Sailun Group’s European tour is travelling through six European countries. Until the beginning of June, the Sailun team will be touring Italy, Spain, France, England, Poland and Germany in the name of innovative ideas for more efficient and climate-friendly mobility.
‘Sailun is showing its innovative, technological and creative side in this exclusive format. In this way, we want to create a desire for encounters and direct exchange and at the same time underline our role in the development of intelligent mobility services in the tyre industry,’ said Stephan Cimbal in the run-up to The Tire Cologne, which takes place in Cologne from 4 to 6 June. At stand C040 in hall 07.1, the Sailun team has created a space of inspiration to actively engage in dialogue with the international audience, dealers, media representatives and influencers. ‘Sailun not only wants to impress the international audience with its major appearance at the leading trade fair, but also set a lasting example in advance with its spectacular road trip through six key European markets,’ emphasised Stephan Cimbal during the third stage of Road To Cologne 2024 in France. From Spain, the Sailun team travelled in a Citroën DS3 along the Mediterranean coast to Marseille in France. From there they continued via Aix-en-Provence to the Atlantic coast in La Rochelle to the headquarters of Distri Cash, one of the most important players in the distribution of tyres and spare parts in France. The first French wholesaler for car, van and 4×4 tyres supplies the French market with over 5 million tyres a year through its nationwide branches – including in Orléans, Toulouse, Dijon, Aix-en-Provence, Rennes and Grenoble – and employs around 580 people. ‘Throughout France, more than 10,000 customers and millions of consumers trust us when it comes to mobility. As a partner, Sailun has been providing us with innovative tyre products and services for more than ten years, helping our customers throughout France to overcome the huge challenges facing the industry in the main mobility sectors,’ said Jean-Philippe Moyet, President of Distri Cash. He emphasised that he and his sales staff are keen to deepen the existing collaboration in order to be even more successful. ‘We are already working intensively on optimisation potential in order to align the possibilities and opportunities surrounding the Sailun Group’s new tyres even better with market requirements for everyone involved and to be optimally equipped for the coming challenges in the French market,’ Jean-Philippe Moyet continued.
From France, the team continued across the English Channel to Great Britain as part of Road To Cologne 2024. The Sailun team first headed for London in a Volvo XC 90 fitted with Sailun tyres and featuring Eco-Point3 technology. Past Big Ben and Tower Bridge, with a stopover at Windsor Castle and in the university city of Oxford, they made their way to Birmingham, to the headquarters of Halfords Group PLC, one of the largest and leading tyre distribution companies in Europe. Halfords Group PLC has also been the exclusive distributor of the Sailun Group for over ten years. ‘We are delighted that Sailun Europe visited our head office to show us their current range of tyres. This visit demonstrates our ongoing partnership and shows that we are part of a larger European team dedicated to bringing affordable quality tyres to UK drivers,’ emphasised Dan Williams, Commercial Director of Halfords. And Jamie Simcox, Head of Tyres at Halfords, emphasised: ‘Sailun Group’s Road To Cologne stop at Halfords is very important to us as it brings the comprehensive and unique Sailun and Maxam tyre range closer to our customers in the UK and Ireland.’ Halfords Group has over 600 garages in its network consisting of Halfords Autocentres, National Tyres and Autocentres, McConechy’s and Universal Tyre & Auto Centres. They also have 240 vans nationwide offering mobile tyre fitting.
