The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association published itsMembers’ European1 tyre replacement sales numbers for the first three quarters of 2019:
Despite the negative third quarter, ETRMA Members’ replacement tyre sales indicate a general stabilisation of the market:
- Passenger car tyre replacement sales continued to decrease in the third quarter, resulting in a total decline of 3% compared to the same time period in 2018.
- Truck tyre replacement sales decreased in the first quarter of this year. However, the overall results for the first nine months remain positive (+3%) compared to January to September in 2018.
- Agricultural tyre sales continue their steep decline in the third quarter, worsening the overall performance for the first nine months of the year, 6% below sales in the same period last year.
- Motorcycle tyre sales also decreased in the third quarter for the first time this year. However, the overall results for the first nine months of the year show a 2% improvement to last year.
