Developed and tested in Germany, produced using state-of-the-art technology in Thailand and Malaysia – that is PRINX Europe’s concept for its future models. To this end, the PRINX Europe Tech Centre (ETC) was opened in Hanover in December. Known for its tyre technology and vehicle manufacturers, the region offers an innovation-friendly environment with close ties to Leibniz University and internationally renowned research institutions.
PRINX Europe is focused on further building brand trust and gaining more direct access to OEMs and highly qualified specialists. For the manufacturing parent company PRINX CHENGSHAN, the Tech Centre is a cornerstone of its global innovation strategy and a clear commitment to the European market.
With its strict criteria for rolling resistance, wet grip, noise emissions, and rubber particle emissions, Europe is considered the global benchmark. The fierce competition promoted by independent test magazines further raises expectations for safety and sustainability. Developments that emerge and survive in this competitive environment are excellent selling points worldwide.
Stefan Fischer Heads the German Technology Hub
Stefan Fischer is responsible for the development of the PRINX Europe Tech Centre and its technical organisation. The industry renowned expert brings extensive R&D and management experience from International tyre manufacturers such as Continental, Hankook, and Giti. Fischer reports to European Managing Director Thomas Wohlgemuth and Li Chong Bing, Head of Global Research and Development in China.
In addition to developing new product lines for all tyre segments, the Tech Centres to-do list also includes evaluation on regional test tracks, the development of European original equipment, innovation projects, and strategic cooperation with external centres of excellence such as universities, research institutes, and material or technology suppliers. In addition, the engineers at the PRINX Europe Tech Centre work closely with the company’s internal sales teams to incorporate market trends and customer needs into development at an early stage.
The stated goal: “Deliver tyres as quickly as possible that can compete with the most powerful products on the European market,” says Thomas Wohlgemuth aggressively. The focus will initially be on the flagship brand PRINX. By 2028, the brand should establish itself in the top ten in tests conducted by well-known magazines.
