Pirelli P Zero tyres, available in specialised variants for the entire 911 range, now also equip the latest Porsche 911 GT3. There are two new tyres for this car that are tailor-made to meet specific needs: the P Zero R and the P Zero Trofeo RS. The bespoke P Zero Trofeo RS has been developed using the experience gained from Pirelli’s tyres for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS: widely recognised by international press as the best semi-slick road going tyre for track use.
P Zero R: Performance and Versatility
The P Zero R meets the needs of the sportiest cars and is an ideal choice for daily driving. The compound, specifically developed for the new Porsche GT3, has been created to offer high performance even in everyday situations. This is thanks to its excellent grip on different surfaces, especially in the wet. The P Zero R benefits from a wide working temperature range, guaranteeing top performance even in suboptimal conditions. The tyre structure is different on the front and rear wheels to ensure ideal balance: delivering greater sensitivity and steering precision for the front tyres, allied with strength and control on the rear axle: also to manage the high loadings.
P Zero Trofeo RS: The Best on Track, Now Also for the Porsche 911 GT3
At the top of the P Zero range, the Trofeo RS is designed for those looking for maximum performance on track. Its combination of extreme performance and consistency are key to its many strengths. Even in the most demanding conditions, it consistently maintains grip and driving precision over long periods of time, allowing the driver to fully exploit the potential of the car. Having been asked to develop a bespoke P Zero Trofeo RS for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS by the manufacturer, Pirelli’s know-how has now been transferred to the new tyre dedicated to the latest Porsche 911 GT3. Even though it is a highly specialised product, tailor-made versions of the P Zero Trofeo RS have been developed for a number of very different models: from the Porsche GT3 RS – the most extreme model in the roadgoing range to the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, a high-performance electric car.
Pirelli’s Perfect Fit: Tailor-Made Tyres
The P Zero R and P Zero Trofeo RS tyres developed specifically for the Porsche 911 GT3 follow Pirelli’s Perfect Fit strategy, which is based on the creation of tailor-made tyres for each model. In fact, they feature the “N” marking on the sidewall, which testifies to their specific development for the 911 GT3. Thanks to the use of advanced virtualisation techniques at the R&D centres in Milan and Breuberg, there was a 30% reduction in both the fitments’ development time and use of physical prototypes.
