It is with great sadness that Yokohama share the news of the sudden death of their much loved, respected and valued colleague, Simon Clarke, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle collision on 12th July.
Simon joined Yokohama HPT in 1993 and most recently served as the company’s Motorsport and Technical Manager. During his three decades with Yokohama, Simon became an integral member of the company’s UK and European motorsport teams. His vast experience and passion shaped countless initiatives across numerous domestic and international race series, while his expertise was so highly regarded, the company’s global Head Office regularly requested his support for major European motorsport events.
Over the years, Simon was also responsible for leading tyre development programmes for UK vehicle manufacturers, and he proudly served as the Chairman of the Motorsport UK Production Tyre Panel and held a certified Claims Adjuster licence.
Simon was a wonderful colleague and a close friend to many within Yokohama UK, the wider Yokohama family, as well as to many others across the tyre and motorsport industries. Above all, Simon was a devoted family man who cherished his holidays and time spent socialising with friends.
Simon will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
At this sad time, Yokohama sends its deepest condolences to Simon’s family.
