Mike’s Camino – Just for Joel

On 11th September 2022, Tyrenet were all shocked and saddened to lose a wonderful colleague and friend Joel. One in four people experience mental health problems of some kind each year in England and Joel, like many others, was fighting his own.

At 26 years young, Joel had already achieved a great deal in his short life. He was a son, brother, and father, that had a love for guitar and a talent for writing his own music. He had a promising career at Tyrenet UK as a Business Development Manager and made a lasting impact on those who worked with him. Joel was also a very keen footballer and advocate for a healthy lifestyle, where in his spare time he coached and inspired the team at FC Woolton. But undoubtedly, his two young children Jack and Ava were his greatest achievement.

Mike says “Please support me in helping to ease the loss of their dad by raising money for Jack and Ava in memory of Joel. All money raised will be deposited directly into a trust fund for Jack and Ava to access when they are 18 years old to support them in their early adult life”.

“Just over a year on from Joel’s anniversary, on September 21st, I will be challenging myself to walk the Camino del Norte in Spain. Beginning at San Sebastian, I will complete a total of 504 miles (roughly 14 miles a day) and arrive 36 days later at Santiago de Compostela. I will be sharing my journey through Just Giving and posting updates along the way”.
