Michelin will be showcasing its truck tyre technology, including the latest addition to its X Multi family of products, and explaining how embracing AI for day-to-day tasks can boost Fleet Manager’s productivity and help save hauliers’ money, on stand G54 at this year’s Road Transport Expo (RTX).
The tyre manufacturer will be debuting its new MICHELIN X Multi D2 295/80 R22.5 for the first time at the three-day event, ahead of an official market launch in September. The new generation tyre, which will be available for the first time in this popular UK tractor unit sizing, offers up to 15% more mileage than its predecessor thanks to its use of MICHELIN REGENION technology and an efficient rubber mixture.
The MICHELIN X Multi D2 also features up to 7% lower rolling resistance than the first generation of the product, opening the door to further fuel savings.
Joining it on the stand will be the MICHELIN X Multi Energy Remix 295/80 R22.5. Underlining the manufacturer’s commitment to sustainability, retread tyres are manufactured at Michelin’s dedicated production facility in Stoke-On-Trent as part of its local-to-local concept. This is a commitment that all retreads are used exclusively with the UK & Ireland, which supports skilled UK jobs and reduces the environmental impact of exporting.
Michelin’s four lives approach sees new tyres regrooved, retreaded, and regrooved again to extend their longevity, minimise environmental impact and improve total cost of ownership.
At the rugged end of the scale, the MICHELIN X Works D2, which is designed to handle tough conditions in and around worksites, completes the show line-up.
More Than a Tyre
Michelin’s experts will be on hand to discuss how AI is being applied across fleet operations to support better decision-making, improve safety and reduce complexity, while keeping people firmly at the centre of every decision.
At RTX, MICHELIN Connected Fleet will showcase a range of AI-enabled solutions, including MICHELIN AI Assistant, AI Cameras and MICHELIN Automated Inspection.
Visitors will be able to discover how AI can help fleets access operational insights faster, improve safety through proactive risk detection and driver coaching, and optimise tyre performance through wear monitoring, low-pressure alerting and compliance checks.
These solutions demonstrate Michelin’s approach to AI: combining data, engineering expertise and human insight to help fleets operate more safely, efficiently and sustainably in the real world.
Sophie Foucque, CEO of MICHELIN Connected Fleet, Europe, Africa and Australia, who will be attending the show, says: “Customers shouldn’t be afraid of their data. They need a simple, transparent way to access the information their vehicles are recording, so that they can understand and address issues to boost efficiency and reduce costs. MICHELIN Connected Fleet provides the tools to achieve this and can act as a guide to help customers understand this evolving technology.”
RTX takes place at the NAEC in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, from 30 June to 2 July.
