Leading motorcycle tyre brands Dunlop and Avon were thrilled with the response from both the trade and riders at the recent MCN London Motorcycle Show at ExCeL. Significantly, it was the first time both brands had featured side-by-side, now that both Dunlop and Avon are part of the Goodyear family.
Exclusive Dunlop preview hailed a highlight for adventure riders
Dunlop returned to the show after a three-year, partially lockdown-enforced, break. The brand used its stand at the ExCeL venue as an opportunity to give adventure bike riders a glimpse of the new Dunlop Trailmax Raid ahead of its official launch next month.
Trailmax Raid has been developed for 50% on-road and 50% off-road use. The new offering is the latest addition to Dunlop’s trail and adventure range, sitting alongside the popular Trailmax Meridian that is becoming a favourite with more road-oriented riders.
Dave Plummer, Dunlop Motorcycle Sales and Marketing Manager UK and Ireland, said: “Trailmax Raid and Meridian give Dunlop two technology-laden options for adventure bike riders. The MCN London Motorcycle Show attracted many premium brand bike riders, particularly from the adventure segment, and we had phenomenal interest in the new range. We look forward to revealing the technology inside the tyre next month.”
Avon looking to the future
For the first time in the UK, the Avon motorcycle range was displayed alongside the Dunlop portfolio. Both brands are now part of the Goodyear family, and the company used the London show to discuss future range developments with existing and prospective Avon dealers.
Plummer added: “Avon has an impressive range, stretching from hypersport to custom, and is the perfect complement to the Dunlop brand. Both Dunlop and Avon have long and proud histories, but share a commitment to future innovation and development. The show provided the perfect platform to discuss our exciting plans for 2023 and beyond with both dealers and riders.”
