Premium tyre manufacturer Hankook is equipping the new Porsche Panamera with its ultra-ultra-high-performance (UUHP) tread. The line-up will include bespoke Ventus S1 evo Z tyres with the ND0 marking on the side wall in sizes 275/35 ZR21 (103Y) XL at the front and 325/30 ZR21 (108Y) XL at the rear.
Hankook has been supplying 19 and 20 inch sizes for the Porsche Panamera since 2021; these are also available on the new model. The tyres are designed precisely for the impressive balance between comfort and performance offered by the Porsche Panamera. In addition to release tests which are customary in this vehicle segment, the mixed tyres also went through extensive tests at maximum speed on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. This ensures robust tyre construction that can cope with sporty demands at all times.
The Hankook Ventus S1 evo Z was developed specifically for the high-end vehicle segment, which has particularly stringent tyre requirements, and is equipped with a composite aramid material in a double-layer carcass. Even when particularly heavy use causes the tyre to heat up, this tyre structure prevents deformations that could otherwise result in an undesired increase in the rolling circumference and an associated reduction in handling precision at high speeds. Aramid fibres are extremely heat-resistant and are characterised by high strength, good damping properties and relative lightweights. High-strength steel in the belt and bead areas gives the new Hankook tread additional stability. Combined with the reinforced side wall, this ensures stability on the straights and steering precision at high and maximum speeds as well as sporty, dynamic handling.
Like other particularly sporty tyres, the Hankook Ventus S1 evo Z features an asymmetrically designed tread pattern with a focus on sporty handling behaviour. The arrangement of individual tread blocks in relation to each other was designed to provide optimum block stiffness in various driving situations. Three main drainage grooves positioned in the inner tread area of the wheel ensure water is drained rapidly on wet roads. In addition, the outer tread area of the tyre has been carefully designed to feature a significantly increased tread-positive proportion so that the tyre can meet requirements for high-performance cornering and precise lateral guidance, especially during sporty driving in dry conditions.
The Hankook Ventus S1 evo Z is currently fitted on a number of leading premium manufacturers’ flagship sporty cars as original equipment tyres. It is available commercially in 15 sizes ranging from 18 to 21 inches with tread widths between 225 and 315 mm in aspect ratios from 45 to 30 series. The tyre also celebrated its premiere on the Porsche 911 Carrera in July 2026.
