The new GT Radial ClimateActive has been officially launched, arriving in Europe in over 90 sizes with rims from 15-21” to cover in excess of 90% of target passenger car and SUV vehicles.
The pattern, which will sit alongside the popular GT Radial 4Seasons which will remain available in 13-14” sizes, features reduced rolling resistance, with up to 15% improvement in wet performance, resulting in an A rating for wet grip, while still retaining long-lasting mileage.
In addition Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre, based in Hannover, Germany has been successful in improving tyre abrasion by over 10% for a more sustainable product offer.
Key attributes for the GT Radial ClimateActive are a very balanced tyre that delivers safe and reliable winter performance, grip on wet and dry roads and a long lasting experience.
From the start of the project the market trends in vehicles electrification have been considered, and the ClimateActive becomes the brand’s first all-season tyre to feature its EV Ready logo, signifying best use across each individual size for dual electric vehicle and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
The GT Radial ClimateActive tyres have already performed well in leading German automobile magazine, when it featured in the AutoBild October 2024 all-season tyre test.
The publication gave it a ‘GOOD’ rating, stating the tyre has ‘impressive performance with short braking distances on snowy slopes, safe handling on both wet and dry roads.’ In most test disciplines, the tyre was scored ahead of well known and more expensive premium products.
The tests were carried out on a BMW 3 series in the popular 225/50R17 size.
Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for Product Planning PCR and LTR, Giti Tire R&D Centre (Europe), said: “Our new GT Radial ClimateActive represents the latest technological achievements of our engineers and delivers a well-balanced and solid performing product that meets and in certain cases surpasses premium products across several test criteria.”
“The “GOOD” review from Autobild is a testament of its strength. Initial sales of the ClimateActive have been splendid, with many customers embracing the product and already giving us enthusiastic reviews.”
The tyres were designed and engineered at Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany with testing at the company’s MIRA facility in the UK as well as key locations in Germany and Spain.
By collaborating exclusively with Micheldever Tyre Services, the GT Radial range is readily available to independent garages and tyre dealers nationwide, guaranteeing a reliable supply chain and enabling businesses to meet customer demands promptly and efficiently.
