Goodyear Supplies Performance Tyres For All-New Captur

Goodyear has been chosen as one of the main tyre suppliers for the all-new Renault Captur, providing 215/55R18 95H EfficientGrip Performance tyres. The Renault Captur is one of the best-selling small SUVs on the market, with 1.5 million units sold in more than 90 countries since its launch in 2013. The all-new Captur follows its original formula – which was a great success – but the car has now been updated with the latest technologies. The Captur has also received an upgrade on its wheels, with Renault opting this time for Goodyear tyres. Goodyear’s EffficientGrip Performance tyres add the perfect level of performance to make the Captur even better than before. As well as the 215/55R18 95H, Goodyear will also supply the 215/60R17 96H.

“Goodyear is proud to supply its 215/55R18 95H EfficientGrip Performance tyres,” says Hans Vrijsen, Managing Director of Goodyear OE in the EMEA region. “We believe these tyres add the perfect level of grip and fuel efficiency for this outstanding SUV. We look forward to joining forces with Renault to give customers the best driving experience.”

The 215/60R17 96H is a class A for Fuel Efficiency and a class B for Wet Grip. As tyres account for up to 20% of a vehicle’s fuel consumption, tyres with a high fuel efficiency rating provide more miles, but with lower CO2 emissions. Tyre pressure and the weight of the vehicle, for example, both affect the energy required to roll them – and thus the fuel efficiency of the tyre.

The 215/55R18 95H EfficientGrip Performance tyre boasts class A for Wet Grip and class B for Fuel Efficiency. The best Wet Grip rating can make all the difference, as a passenger car applying full brakes from 80.5kmh or 50mph on a wet surface brakes up to 18 meters shorter than a set with an F-rating. Tyres with excellent wet grip offer more stable handling, too.

Hence, Goodyear proposes an outstanding combination of safety and fuel efficiency for its premium tyres. Goodyear tyre performances reduce the braking distances of vehicles on wet conditions and bring financial savings for drivers, whilst limiting their environmental impact. As well as this, Goodyear supports the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to achieve their limits for the CO2 emission requirements.
