The latest ADAC test reveals not only the excellent balanced performance but also the great efficiency of Goodyear winter tyres, UltraGrip 9+ and UltraGrip Performance+.
Achieving overall 2nd place, the UltraGrip Performance+ performs exceptionally in the 17-inch test. Experts comment on its strengths: “Safe handling characteristics on dry roads, still good properties on wet roads, very high predicted mileage, low abrasion, good efficiency”.
At the same time, Goodyear UltraGrip 9+ finishes overall third in the 16-inch comparison. The experts rank the tyre number one for efficiency and praise its strengths: “Safe handling characteristics on dry road surfaces, good performance on wet roads, high predicted mileage, best efficiency in the test.”3
Both winter tyres offer Goodyear’s Mileage Plus and Winter Grip technology delivering increased mileage as well as outstanding grip on snowy and icy roads.
Dunlop Winter Sport 5 takes top spot
There is more test success for Dunlop Winter Sport 5, which ranks 1st in the 16-inch fitment test and fourth among the 17-inch comparison.
ADAC testers praise the tyre’s characteristics: “A balanced tyre, precise and safe properties at the limit on dry roads, safe characteristics on wet roads, high predicted mileage, low weight and fuel consumption.” They also comment on its strengths: “The precise and safe performance when pushed hard on dry roads, with exemplary safety on winter roads, very high predicted mileage, low weight and the lowest fuel consumption.”
Dunlop’s range of innovative features, such as the increased number of tread blocks that provide additional gripping edges and superior traction and performance on snow, allowing the tyre to have industry-leading performance.
