Carrying an A-label in wet grip and the new Giti AdvanZtech EV ready tyres logo on its sidewall, the new Giti All-Season AS2 has come to market with safety and improved performance at its core.
The tyre comes to market in two launch waves comprising 65 sizes by the end 2025, with sizes from 185/55R15 to 275/45R20 covering speed indices H-Y.
The Giti AdvanZtech EV platform has been used to create a premium-level all-season tyre with the logo showing it can fulfil the special requirements of both EV and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
Comprehensive tyre testing by the manufacturer has shown a marked improvement against its predecessor, the Giti All-Season AS1 with wet grip improved by 8%, dry precision by 6% and snow adherence by 4%.
There has also been a marked improvement in rolling resistance and mileage potential, key requirements for EV vehicles and of crucial importance for tyres which remain on a vehicle all year long.
The core focus attributes for the GitiAllSeason AS2, which was delivered by Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, are driving pleasure with year-round safety. The sidewall carries the ‘German Engineering’ signature.
The tyre will continue to target medium and large cars including best sellers like the BMW 3 and 5 series, Fiat 500, Nissan Qashqai and VW Golf as well as CUV and large SUVs like the Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 and the BMW X1, X2, X3, X5 and X6 models.
The Giti All-Season City remains available to cover popular 14-15” sizes for smaller city cars like the Ford Fiesta, Hyundai i10 and Volkswagen Polo.
Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for Product Planning PCR and LTR, Giti Tire R&D Centre (Europe), said: “The Giti All-Season AS2 arrives having already been rated as ‘GOOD’ in the AutoBild October 2024 all-season tyre test.”
“The independent test highlighted a powerful performance with short braking distances on snow and ice, good aquaplaning reserves and sporty safe handling on both wet and dry roads. These results were verified by customers from across Europe that drove on the new tyre during our recent ‘Giti Experience Days’ that were held at our facilities in Horiba Mira in the UK.
“Technically speaking, the performance enhancement has been achieved through a completely new all-season compound specially designed for our unique European road conditions, featuring a retained grip and elasticity at low temperatures while delivering the required rigidity and stability during the hot summer months. The GitiAllSeason AS2 will deliver great performance on any road in any weather.”
