FORTUNE and AUSTONE TIRES, the sponsors of Garrett Trucksport, found themselves caught between quiet shock and euphoria last weekend. The fifth round of the European Truck Racing Championship took place in Czech Republic. Luke Garrett finished on the podium, but also struggled with a failing clutch.
The racing team delivered a very strong performance right from the qualifying. On Sunday, Luke secured second place in his class. This meant that the multiple winner of the British Truck Racing Championship was back on the podium surprisingly quickly after switching to the ETRC as a full-time entrant. In the third race, the team battled through various challenges and ultimately finished in sixth place. In the final race, the clutch developed problems and prevented the start. The truck had to return to the pits, leaving the team and sponsors to act as spectators. “Despite all the ups and downs, the weekend was all about perseverance, determination, and teamwork,” says Ari Salah, Marketing Director of AUSTONE TIRES and FORTUNE TIRES. “Values that we proudly stand for as brands. That’s why they’re already looking forward to the next ETRC round, which will take place on September 13-14 in Zolder, Belgium.”
