Falken Tyres Europe GmbH is set to enter the virtual racing world after forming a new partnership with leading online sim racing platform iRacing. The Falken GT4 Challenge offers keen sim racing enthusiasts a chance to put their skills to the test and win a set of Falken’s tyres for their road car; including the brand new Azenis FK520 flagship.
Falken has a long association with elite-level motorsport, competing around the world in GT racing for over two decades. Currently, its main programme sees it racing in the NLS Endurance Series (formerly VLN) and the Nürburgring 24 Hours as a Porsche customer team. Over the years Falken has used this programme to develop high-performance tyres capable of winning races up against other major brands on the world-famous Nordschleife circuit. It has 18 podiums in NLS competition and two third-place finishes in the Nürburgring 24 hours to its name.
“This is not the first time we have participated in virtual racing,” says Dennis Wilstermann, Marketing Supervisor at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH. “Virtual racing suits us very well, our values such as performance, team spirit and passion also apply here.”
This new partnership with iRacing, which has become a world-leading PC sim racing platform since it launched back in 2008, allows Falken to build on its reputation as a leading motorsport brand, while reaching a new audience, getting it closer to the passionate sim racing community.
Further details on the Falken GT4 Challenge, including its schedule and entry requirements, will follow and be released in due course.
