The Bangers4Ben charity rally is a unique and exciting event where participants purchase a ‘banger’ – a car for no more than £750 – and set off on a 1,500-mile adventure to the Alps and back. But that’s not all! The cars are themed, and participants dress up in fancy dress costumes to bring extra fun and creativity to the event. Once the rally is over, the cars are auctioned off, and all proceeds go to Ben.
After viewing some interesting bangers, the Elite Garages team purchased a part exchange 2009 Peugeot 107 Verve, and took the banger straight to Elite Garages Horsham for a check over. The Peugeot received a gold service and had the brakes, headlights and wiper blades replaced. The service parts, brakes and wiper blades were all high quality Bosch branded parts to ensure Kelsie and Tara made it to the Alps and back safely! The car was also treated to a new set of 155/65R14 tyres!
After a company vote, the chosen theme was Mario Kart! The car was transformed into a Mario Kart, and Kelsie and Tara are tackling the Alps dressed as Mario and Luigi! The car looks fantastic and they are even equipped with various Mario Kart items including bananas, mushrooms, shells and stars!
The rally takes the Mario Kart over 1,500 miles through France, Switzerland and Germany. A visit to Nürburgring was booked for the penultimate day!

Fundraising efforts at Elite Garages have included a charity raffle and a cake sale! Before setting off, Elite Garages’ donations had already surpassed £2,000, which will be increased further when the car is sold at auction.
