Dunlop Motorcycle Europe has reinforced its presence in the scooter segment with the introduction of ScootSmart 2, an all-season scooter tyre designed to deliver improved grip, handling and durability across a wide range of urban riding conditions.
Dunlop ScootSmart 2 builds on the success of the original ScootSmart, which since its launch in 2012 has earned a reputation among scooterists for its dependable all-weather performance and lasting durability. The new generation ScootSmart 2 has been developed specifically to meet the evolving demands of modern scooter riders, aimed at those who rely on their scooters for daily mobility, from city commuting to longer urban journeys.
ScootSmart 2 delivers measurable improvements in all performance areas including wet grip, braking and handling, while maintaining the durability and versatility that made the original product so popular.
Enhanced Performance for Everyday Riding
Dunlop ScootSmart 2 has been designed for riders who use their scooters all year round, whether commuting through city traffic or enjoying longer urban journeys. The tyres design draws on Dunlop’s sport touring expertise, combining sophisticated motorcycle tyre technologies with a design tailored specifically for scooters.
The tyre features a new high silica compound to improve grip in a wide range of temperature and road conditions, enhancing traction on both wet and dry surfaces while maintaining strong mileage performance.
This is complemented by an all-new tread pattern. The front tyre features a jagged centre groove to break through surface water and shorten braking distances, while the orientation of the main grooves improves water dispersion at intermediate speeds. Secondary grooves and shoulder tread elements further enhance grip when manoeuvring on slippery surfaces.
At the rear, a continuous tread centre supports wear resistance and traction on dry roads, while the groove layout is optimised to maintain grip in wet conditions. Together, these features contribute to consistent performance across varied conditions faced by year-round scooter riders.
In fact, Dunlop’s internal testing shows a 10% reduction in wet braking distance compared to its predecessor, highlighting a clear improvement in safety and control for everyday riding.

Built for Versatility Across the Scooter Market
ScootSmart 2 has been developed with market-leading size coverage, suiting everything from lightweight city scooters, to retro models and high-end performance maxi scooters with larger frames. Its extensive size range will ultimately include 75 sizes, covering rim diameters from 10 to 16 inches and accounting for approximately 84% of the scooter market.
