Dunlop Extends Partnership with Italian Championship

Dunlop has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting motorcycle racing at all levels with the news that it will be the title sponsor and exclusive tyre supplier to all classes of the Campionato Italiano Velocità (CIV) from 2024.

The multi-year agreement means that all riders in each of CIV’s classes will race on Dunlop’s range of race-proven tyres. Dunlop tyres have been used in the flagship Superbike class for two seasons and a number of other categories, including Moto3 and Pre-Moto3, for longer, so many CIV racers are already familiar with the high level of support they receive from Dunlop’s motorsport department.

In addition to continuing Dunlop’s supply of the Superbike, Moto3 and Pre-Moto3 categories, Dunlop will now be the exclusive tyre partner of the SuperSport 300 and SuperSport 600 NG classes, supporting rising talent in these highly competitive races.

Dunlop’s vast experience means that specific tyres from its renowned KR racing slick range will be supplied to each class, matching the needs of each bike according to size and power. The KR109 front and KR108 rear tyres are closely related to those trusted by leading teams in arenas such as the FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC), and have helped produce thrilling battles in CIV Superbike in recent seasons.

Dunlop is the exclusive supplier to EWC’s Superstock class and the choice of several leading superbike teams in that series, as well as top motocross riders in both the FIM Motocross World Championship (MXGP) and the U.S. Motocross and Supercross series.

Wim Van Achter, Motorcycle Motorsport Manager, Dunlop Motorcycle Europe: “We are proud to deepen our involvement with CIV, which has established one of the most competitive and respected national racing ladders in Europe.

“It is exciting to support riders at all levels of this organisation, from young future stars to the most skilled superbike racers, each of whom will benefit from our race-proven KR tyre range and expert trackside support. This partnership also shows our ongoing commitment to motorsport and using it as an arena to develop technology for the next generation of road, track day and racing tyres.”

Giovanni Copioli, FMI President: “We are really pleased to announce this partnership with Dunlop, one of the leading companies in the tyre industry, through a bond that is growing and growing closer. The quality of the Dunlop brand can only raise even higher the level of CIV, which has always aimed to grow and improve.”
