Continental has received original equipment approval from General Motors for the two models: the Cadillac OPTIQ and Chevrolet Equinox EV. Both electric SUVs will be factory-equipped with the all-weather touring tyre CrossContact RX in 20 and 21 inch sizes. The tyres have been specially developed for safe, quiet, and comfortable driving, even with light off-road usage and moderate snowfall.
Developers at Continental have designed the CrossContact series, tyres that offer excellent braking behaviour and effective dynamics on dry, wet, and snowy roads. The adapted tire tread pattern and contour also ensure low rolling resistance and improved traction in different weather conditions, including light snowfall. The uniform sipe arrangement on the tread reduces rolling noise and ensures a comfortable and quiet driving style. Finally, the ContiSeal technology in both tyres can seal punctures of up to 6 mm in diameter and allow customer to keep driving in the case of most punctures.
