APOLLO TYRES TO SHOWCASE NEW MOTORCYCLE TYRE AT EICMA

Apollo Tyres will present its new Apollo Alpha-H1, a radial motorcycle tyre specially designed for the Indian market, at this year’s EICMA in Milan on 6-11 November. This annual trade show is the world’s leading exhibition for two-wheeled vehicles.

The Apollo Alpha-H1 was recently introduced in India in the sizes 110/70 R17 and 150/60 R17, and is suitable for small-displacement sports motorcycles like the KTM 125, 390 Duke and BMW 310. It is the first radial motorcycle tyre with 0° steel belt technology to be produced in India. For now the motorcycle tyre is only available on the Indian market, but preparations are now underway to further develop and tune the technology for Europe.

“We are at the beginning of further rolling out our motorcycle division worldwide”, says Alberto Vigano, General Manager Two Wheel Tyres. “We have a very good product for the Indian market, but will soon also come with an interesting product for the European market under the well-known Vredestein brand that has been operating in the premium and ultra-high performance car, bicycle and agricultural sectors since 1909. With this in mind we are currently setting-up a dedicated R&D department for motorcycle tyres in the Netherlands and a testing facility in Italy.”

The Apollo Alpha-H1 will be showcased at EICMA in partnership with the SST Group, a major player in the development of technical solutions for motorbike companies and distributor of components for two-wheel vehicles. The SST Group is currently working with Apollo Tyres on the integration of the latest technological innovations into GPS systems for the purpose of enabling motorcyclists to explore new roads more easily and safely.
