Automotive Equipment Solutions (AES UK) will introduce the Wallmek range of specialist hydraulic workshop tools to the UK commercial vehicle sector at RTX Scotland, taking place at the SEC Glasgow on 18–19 November 2026. The equipment is designed to simplify maintenance and repair procedures on trucks, trailers, buses and coaches.
Developed in Sweden, Wallmek is an established manufacturer of professional hydraulic workshop equipment, with a proven track record in demanding repair and maintenance applications. Its tools combine engineering expertise with practical solutions to common workshop challenges.
The Wallmek range is designed for professional workshop applications, particularly maintenance and repair tasks involving components that can be difficult to remove or replace using conventional methods. The tools are intended to reduce the amount of dismantling required, minimise manual handling and help technicians complete repair operations more efficiently.
A key feature of the Wallmek system is its modular design, which enables a single hydraulic cylinder to be used with multiple tools and attachments for different workshop applications. For example, a 32-tonne hydraulic cylinder can be used with tooling for wheel hub pulling, king pin removal and suspension bush removal and installation.
This allows workshops to invest in a common hydraulic power system and progressively add application-specific tools as their requirements develop, rather than purchasing separate hydraulic systems for each task.
The range includes hydraulic king pin presses, wheel hub pullers, suspension bush removal and installation tools, ball joint separators and equipment for steering and axle repairs. Selected tools allow components to be removed or replaced with the relevant assemblies still fitted to the vehicle, avoiding additional dismantling.
For commercial vehicle workshops and dealerships, the equipment offers a means of simplifying labour-intensive repair procedures, potentially reducing workshop hours and improving the utilisation of technicians and service bays.
“Wallmek has an established reputation for Swedish engineering and practical, workshop-proven solutions,” says Tom Coad, Director of AES UK. “The amount of dismantling involved in some commercial vehicle repairs can account for a significant proportion of the overall workshop time. Wallmek tools are designed to make these operations more straightforward, allowing technicians to remove and replace components with less dismantling and reduced physical effort.
“The modular system is also an important consideration for workshops. By using one hydraulic cylinder with different tools and attachments, technicians can undertake a range of maintenance and repair tasks without needing a separate hydraulic system for every application.”
For vehicle operators maintaining their own fleets, the principal benefits include the potential to reduce maintenance-related downtime and return vehicles to service sooner. The modular system also enables workshops to add application-specific tooling as maintenance requirements change.
Alongside the Wallmek introduction, AES UK will exhibit its established range of commercial vehicle workshop equipment, including JOSAM wheel alignment systems, induction heaters and vehicle jacks.
Visitors can see AES UK at RTX Scotland, SEC Glasgow, on Stand D70, 18–19 November 2026.
