2021 Tyre Industry Awards “will definitely go ahead” says NTDA Chief Executive

The 2021 Tyre Industry Awards are now open for entry to all NTDA and TRA members.

The Awards are scheduled to be presented to the winners at a ceremony sponsored by Sailun at the NTDA Annual Dinner due to take place on the evening of Thursday 7thOctober 2021 at the ICC Birmingham, following the daytime Tyre Industry Conference sponsored by GB Tyres Ltd in association with Linglong Tire.

This fabulous black-tie event, which is usually attended by over 600 guests, provides great networking opportunities and is the premier social occasion for the UK Tyre Industry and associated aftermarket. This year it will be sponsored by Maritime Cargo Services.

The NTDA has reported that things are progressing very well so far and believes, from discussions held with the venue, that it is now highly likely that the 2021 NTDA Tyre Industry Conference, Annual Dinner and Awards will all take place.

The NTDA’s Chief Executive Stefan Hay said: “We have already had many table bookings for the Annual Dinner and Awards and we’ve had a very positive virtual follow-up meeting, with the ICC Head of Events and her team. The good news is, the guidance still supports us being able to hold an event, but clearly this will be in line with whatever social distancing and safety restrictions apply at the time, including, unfortunately, a possible need to limit guest numbers this year.

Whatever happens, we would like to take this opportunity, once again, to guarantee the trade, that the Tyre Industry Awards Ceremony in 2021 will definitely go ahead, probably as the actual live event, or a hybrid actual / virtual event, but in the very worst-case scenario a totally virtual online event and with that in mind, we would now like to really encourage NTDA and TRA members to enter for the awards.”

During lockdown, many tyre distributors remained open to support key workers’ transport needs, others provided essential mobile response services and commercial tyre technicians continued to work roadside in even more difficult situations than those they are usually exposed to, so now more than ever before, the NTDA says it is looking to recognise and celebrate the companies and individual ‘heroes’ that played a major role in keeping Britain moving during such a terrible time for the Nation.

Supporting all of the activity above, of course, was a wonderful supply chain of manufacturers, wholesalers and aftermarket suppliers, who equally played a massive role in supporting Britain’s transport infrastructure during the crisis and who the Association will also be celebrating on October 7th.

This year sees the launch of two new awards to recognise the TRA Responsible Recycler Scheme (RRS) Member of the Year and NTDA Commercial Tyre Service Provider of the Year.

Companies can request the awards brochure and the electronic modifiable application form from the NTDA via E: info@ntda.co.uk or T: 01296 482128.

The closing date for entries is Friday 16th July 2021, entries arriving after that date will not be considered.
