TechMan 2.0 Takes Garage Management to New Heights

TechMan is set to redefine workshop technology once again with the launch of TechMan 2.0, marking the evolution of the business from an award-winning garage management system provider to a complete Workshop Performance Platform for independent garages and workshops.

Having been at the forefront of transforming how independent garages use technology to manage their businesses, TechMan 2.0 represents the next evolution – moving beyond traditional garage management software to technology designed to actively improve workshop performance.

The new platform delivers a faster, cleaner and more intuitive experience, alongside an expanded range of tools designed to support workshops across the entire customer and vehicle journey.

The launch also introduces a new positioning for TechMan, reflecting the growing role technology plays not only in managing the day-to-day running of a workshop, but in helping independent garages attract customers, maximise workshop productivity, improve retention and drive profitable growth.

Leo Freebairn, Sales Director UK at TechMan, explains: “TechMan has always been about pushing workshop technology forward and TechMan 2.0 takes that considerably further. This is more than a garage management system. It is a complete platform built around workshop performance – connecting the tools garages need to run their business today with the technology they need to grow it tomorrow.”

From websites and online booking at the beginning of the customer journey, through to diary and technician management, technical information, customer communication, payments and future bookings, TechMan 2.0 brings multiple areas of the workshop together within one connected ecosystem.

The platform will also incorporate unrestricted Autodata Premium, alongside intelligent customer communication and AI-powered functionality developed specifically around the needs of independent workshops.

TechMan’s AI technology goes beyond simply answering inbound calls. Its inbound and outbound capabilities can support workshops with customer bookings, reminders, updates and feedback, while proactively reconnecting with customers and helping garages identify and recover opportunities for future work.

Freebairn added: “The garage management software market has changed enormously but so have the needs and expectations of independent workshops. Garages now expect technology to do much more than create job cards, manage a diary and produce invoices. We don’t just want to help a garage manage the work it already has. We want to provide the technology that helps bring customers into the business, maximises every opportunity within the workshop and encourages those customers to return. That is why we’re launching TechMan 2.0 as our next generation garage management system. It connects different parts of the business and gives garages the tools to run, grow and continually improve their operation.”

The refreshed platform also introduces a significantly improved interface and user journey, with a focus on making TechMan faster, simpler and more intuitive for the people using it every day.

TechMan 2.0 builds on almost two decades of experience developing automotive software and represents the next stage in the company’s continued investment in technology for the independent aftermarket.

Earlier this year, TechMan worked alongside CCM Garage through the IAAF Garage Den initiative to co-develop its AI technology, with feedback from a working independent garage helping to shape both its inbound and outbound functionality around genuine workshop requirements.

Freebairn continued: “TechMan 2.0 isn’t about changing things for the sake of it. It’s about taking everything we’ve learned from years of working alongside independent garages and asking what workshops need from their technology next. The result is a platform that goes considerably further than traditional garage management software. Whether it’s attracting a new customer, communicating with an existing one, improving technician productivity or identifying opportunities to bring work back into the workshop, TechMan has a role to play.”

“Ultimately, it’s about workshop performance. If technology can help garages save time, make better use of their resources, deliver a better customer experience and create more opportunities for profitable work, then it’s doing its job.”
