Leading speciality tyre manufacturer, MAXAM, has now opened its dedicated UK warehouse to providers across the UK that offer Off-the-Road (OTR) tyre services for trade customers.
Located at Lymedale Cross Industrial Estate in Newcastle-under-Lyme, the warehouse has been working with key accounts for some time and is now set to optimise availability and reduce lead times for its wider network of distributors and service providers nationwide.
This expanded offering follows a highly successful trial period that has seen sales grow by 130% and generated an increase in demand for the MAXAM brand.
The warehouse is focused on MAXAM OTR and OTR Solid tyre distribution. MAXAM Agricultural tyres remain separate from this model and will continue to be distributed in the UK through Kirkby Tyres, the sole distributor for the agricultural tyre line.
Part of the Sailun Group, MAXAM manufactures speciality tyres for a wide range of applications including waste, infrastructure, and mining and quarrying vehicles. The brand’s OTR and OTR Solid ranges are now well established in the UK market, reflecting MAXAM’s Smart Performance approach: combining proven application performance, strong value and reliable support for demanding sectors including construction, quarrying, mining, infrastructure and waste.
Strategically located close to major motorway links and within easy reach of the Midlands’ concentration of quarries and plant companies, the warehouse is designed to aid faster delivery, improved stock access and a more efficient service for distributors and service providers.
It will also support increasing demand from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), such as JCB and Caterpillar, that specify or fit MAXAM products to their vehicles, as well as the growing number of plant and infrastructure companies adopting the MAXAM brand.
The opening of the warehouse mirrors a similar launch in Turkey alongside expansion of existing facilities in Belgium. It also reflects the brand’s success in other key global markets such as the US, where MAXAM has been established for more than a decade.
Alongside the warehouse venture, MAXAM is also developing a web-based portal where orders can be placed 24/7 with plans to expand the team and service offering as demand continues to grow.
Daniel Ovington, STE Key Accounts Manager, MAXAM, explained: “The opening of the UK warehouse marks an important step in the continued growth of the MAXAM OTR brand. Our objective is simple – to make premium OTR tyres readily available to every professional service provider in the UK, enabling them to respond faster, reduce customer downtime and deliver outstanding value to the end user. We have always believed that the service industry is at the heart of our business. Rather than selling directly to end users, our investment is focused on supporting our service partners with improved stock availability, faster delivery and the backing of a global OTR tyre brand.”
“By making the MAXAM OTR and OTR Solid ranges accessible to the wider market, we are creating new opportunities for service providers while giving customers greater access to world-class tyre technology that reflects our Smart Performance approach – delivering the durability, reliability and value service providers need in demanding OTR applications.”
“This is just the beginning of our UK growth strategy, and we look forward to working alongside our partners as we continue to expand the MAXAM brand across the construction, quarrying, mining and waste sectors.”
The warehouse is open for collections from 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Delivery requests can be scheduled from 7.30am to 5.30pm every day.
