Guy Martin Headlines Racing Hondas Season Opener

All eyes were on Yokohama’s ADVAN A052 and TV’s Guy Martin in the opening round of this year’s Racing Hondas Championship.

The wheel-to-wheel racing over two rounds took place at Silverstone on Sunday 5th April and saw former motorcycle racer, Guy, who has options to return to the series later in the season, finish 12th in Race 1 and 15th in Race 2.

Yokohama provides its road legal, track focused A052 tyre for all classes of Racing Hondas and for the Club classes of Time Attack, while the Pro Classes of Time Attack utilise both slick and wet racing tyres.

Guy was driving a green and white Takata-liveried S2000R run by Tegiwa which took to the grid alongside their own 90’s-tipped ADVAN-liveried machine with Luke Sedzikowski at the wheel.

Speaking after previous tests at Oulton Park, Guy said the car had ‘huge amounts of grip’.

Racing Honda’s sees a wide range of Honda performance models compete in a tightly-controlled club level championship. As well as Silverstone, the championship visits a number of the UK’s other top racing circuits, including Brand’s Hatch, Snetterton and Oulton Park.

Meanwhile, for track focused cars, the high-performance ADVAN A052 tyre combines impressive grip and superior handling in a road legal, track ready performance package.

Available in a wide range of sizes from 13” to 20”, the A052 features an asymmetric tread pattern and specially developed sport compound to provide powerful cornering capability, efficient heat dissipation, greater straight line stability, together with superior anti-hydroplaning.
