Yokohama Rubber Supplies ADVAN Tyres to BMW M Motorsport

Yokohama Rubber announces that in its role as the official partner of BMW M Motorsport, which is active in motorsport-related activities around the world, it will supply its ADVAN racing tyres for BMW M Motorsport’s specially developed BMW M3 Touring 24H, which will compete in the SPX class in this year’s Nürburgring 24-Hour Race (ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring) and the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS).

The BMW M3 Touring 24H is a car for the fans at the Nürburgring, with whom BMW M Motorsport has a very special relationship. The BMW M3 Touring 24H shares the same technical basis as the BMW M4 GT3 EVO, but is based on the body shell of the BMW M3 Touring. It is 200 millimetres longer and, including the rear wing, 32 millimetres taller than its GT3 counterpart. The technical specifications of the BMW M3 Touring 24H and the BMW M4 GT3 EVO are identical.

The SPX class is for special high-performance experimental vehicles or vehicles with special modifications that do not fall under other classes, such as the SP9 class featuring production cars that meet the FIA GT3 specifications. The SPX class contributes to the development and validation of the latest technologies and concept cars.

Yokohama Rubber previously partnered with BMW M Motorsport at Nürburgring 24-Hour races from 1980 to 1990, winning two overall championships in that time. This season therefore marks the first time in almost 40 years that Yokohama Rubber and BMW M Motorsport are teaming up at Nürburgring. Yokohama Rubber will be supplying its ADVAN tyres to two BMW M Motorsport’s cars competing in the year’s Nürburgring: the BMW M4 GT3 EVO competing in the SP9 class, as well as the BMW M3 Touring 24H in the SPX class.

In addition to this new partnership with BMW M Motorsport, Yokohama Rubber will be supplying tyres to several top teams participating in this season’s Nürburgring 24-Hour Race and the NLS.
