Linglong Tire presents the world’s largest OTR tyre with the 59/80 R63 LXD Master Pro, impressively demonstrating its outstanding and independent innovative strength. Built in Changchun, China, the 63-inch tyre has a diameter of over four metres and a weight of over six tons! The tyre with a load capacity of 100 tons is mainly used on large off-highway dump trucks such as the Caterpillar 797 or the Komatsu 980 in mining areas, both in open-cast mines and mines, mainly in Australia, South America and Africa.
Linglong has almost 40 years of experience in building OTR tyres. Since building the first cross-ply tyre for agricultural machinery in 1987, Linglong has steadily expanded its three main product lines – mechanical, agricultural and industrial tyres building immense technical know-how, which has been used in the research and development process of the 59/80 R63 LXD Master Pro to overcome the technical challenges of structural design, materials and production.
The launch of the 59/80 R63 LXD Master Pro not only fills the gap in the Linglong OTR portfolio of 63-inch giant radial tyres, but above all shows that the company has all the technologies that until recently were exclusively mastered by leading international premium brands. This makes Linglong Tire one of the world’s leading manufacturers in the OTR segment.
To meet the requirements of the OTR tyre market, the company has already optimised its capacity planning to produce OTR tyres in 2022. As part of its global strategic “7+5” layout, a special “3+3” layout for OTR tyres has been implemented: In the future OTR tyres will be built at three production sites in China and three production sites outside China.
