TyreSafe Welcomes Three New Members to its Steering Committee

In a move to continue to drive forward its mission of promoting tyre safety, UK charity TyreSafe announces the addition of three experienced and passionate professionals to its Steering Committee.

Lucie Wheater, Marketing Manager at Yokohama, joins the committee with a wealth of experience garnered from her tenure at industry giants Michelin and Grouptyre. Lucie stated, “I feel truly privileged to be invited to join the TyreSafe Steering Committee, where I can leverage the knowledge and skills gained throughout my career to contribute to further raising the charity’s position and profile in the industry. TyreSafe plays a vital role in promoting tyre safety, and I am looking forward to supporting its impactful initiatives and campaigns.”

Adding to the committee’s depth is Karl Naylor, newly appointed Commercial Director at Yokohama (UK). Karl brings a breadth of industry expertise, having held various managerial positions at Michelin, Kumho Tyre, and Apollo, along with serving as Managing Director of Group Tyre UK. Karl said, “We have a shared responsibility across the tyre industry to champion safety, and joining the TyreSafe Steering Committee will enable me, and Yokohama, to provide our own insights and show as much support as we can to help educate and advise the public.”

The third new recruit is Jenny Wahlsten, Communications Manager Europe North at Goodyear, bringing a wealth of experience in communications strategy and brand management. With her extensive background in the tyre sector in the Nordics, Jenny is poised to contribute valuable insights to TyreSafe’s initiatives. Based in Sweden, which paves the way for road safety with its impressive reputation, Jenny will provide first hand insights to help emulate Sweden’s success in the UK. Jenny said “TyreSafe have made great strides in the past twelve months in the amount of reach and gravitas the tyre safety message is now garnering, and I am delighted to be involved in the conversations at the heart of its activities.”

Stuart Lovatt, TyreSafe Chair, welcomed the new committee members, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Lucie, Karl, and Jenny to the TyreSafe Steering Committee. Their wealth of experience and expertise will be invaluable as we continue our mission to promote tyre safety and raise awareness across the industry and in the public domain.”

The TyreSafe Steering Committee now comprises thirteen representatives from the tyre industry and road safety sector who meet monthly to discuss, challenge and support TyreSafe’s internal team.
