Trelleborg Unveils its Innovative Agricultural TW Rim at Agritechnica 2019

At Agritechnica 2019, Trelleborg Wheel Systems launches an innovative TW rim profile, for modern and large agricultural equipment, such as tractors, combines and harvesters. Its advanced and optimized geometry facilitates the rim mounting for large agricultural tyres, making it easier, safer and faster. The tyre is guided towards proper positioning, reducing the bead seating time and preventing the risk of the tyre being stuck in the middle of the bead seat area.

Lorenzo Ciferri, VP Marketing & Communications at Trelleborg Wheel Systems, says: “At Trelleborg, we believe that the interaction between tyre and rim is essential to boost the efficiency, safety and productivity of modern and large mechanisation. We are leveraging our expertise as complete wheel producer to stay ahead of the competition by creating an optimised and complete assembly offering for professional farmers.”

During very tough applications, the service life of wheels could be reduced by the stress driven by lateral surfaces of standard rim. The innovative design of the new Trelleborg TW rim profile ensures enhanced performance and longer life for the complete wheel. In addition, its increased structural resistance has been achieved through an optimised contour and the use of thinner material has reduced the weight of the wheel. This lowers fuel consumption and thereby reduces carbon emissions and footprint of the agricultural equipment, for the benefit of the environment.

This new profile is currently available in sizes from 24 inches up to 50 inches in diameter and it is suitable with the whole range of Trelleborg agricultural tyres. The TW is also available in combination with the THK Trelleborg feature – Trelleborg High Knurling – the advanced knurling solution designed by Trelleborg that maximises a tractors’ performance at high speed and torque, preventing any slippage between tyre and rim.

The new TW wheel will be on display at Agritechnica 2019, November 10 to 16 in Hannover on Trelleborg’s stand, hall 20 – booth A04.
