Swedish CrossCar driver Jimmy Karlsson is making the step-up to RallyX Nordic presented by Cooper Tires this season, with the aim to participate in all eight rounds of the 2020 calendar.
Competing for Swedish Götene Motorklubb, the 21-year-old enjoyed a successful 2019 finishing third overall in the Swedish Sprintcup, this season will see him take the next step in his career.
2020 marks Karlsson’s third season in the class, but a complete rebuild and significant improvements have been made to the car bringing it up-to-speed with the ultra-competitive Nordic CrossCar/Crosskart category.
“I am really excited for the challenge ahead,” enthused Karlsson. “Driving outside of Sweden and especially in RallyX Nordic is a milestone in my career.
“Its difficult to set a goal for the season but I’ve been driving against many of the RallyX Nordic CrossCar drivers in Sweden and they are no fools on the track, but neither am I.
“We showed some serious speed during the 2019 season so now we’re going to do our homework during the Winter and get well prepared for the start of the season. Then we will focus on one race at a time and of course, have fun!”
