Hamaton, a leading manufacturer of TPMS products, is launching an aftermarket BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) sensor exclusively for Tesla vehicles.
The new solution from Hamaton will serve as a replacement for the Sysgration BLE sensor – the only OE sensor to utilise the said technology. When air pressure drops, a signal is sent via Bluetooth to the vehicle’s computer system, triggering the TPMS light.
BLE sensors are found in the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y. According to JATO Dynamics, Model 3 registrations grew by 64% in 2021 and surpassed the likes of Mercedes A-Class and BMW Series 3. The sudden rise in popularity has seen demand for an aftermarket sensor soar as more and more garages encounter Tesla vehicles.
The Hamaton sensor will come preprogrammed, meaning technicians can install them on the Tesla models without programming.
The sensor will have four valve stem options. Customers will be able to choose between a rubber Snap-In or a metal Clamp-In available in three colours (black, graphite and silver), each designed to complement the alloy wheel finish.
