The ‘Girls Only’ team of Giti Tire Motorsport by WS Racing produced the perfect preparation for the 51st ADAC TotalEnergies 24–hour Nürburgring endurance race with two class wins in the final Nürburgring qualifiers.
Driving in an all-new BMW M4 GT4 from the G82 series, the all-women team dominated the SP8T class with regular drivers Célia Martin, Fabienne Wohlwend and Beitzke Visser starting in pole position on Saturday and the Sunday and dominating both races with flawless precision.
This year’s race will market the fifth anniversary of the ground-breaking ‘Girls Only – Ready to rock the Green Hell’ team at the world-famous 24 hour race, with Giti Tire Motorsport having supported them all the way.
Starting in 2019 with a VW Golf GTI TCR, they progressed to an Audi R8 GT4, a BMW M4 GT4 F82 and now the BMW GT4 M4 G82, all of which have competed on on GitiCompete GTR1tyres, which form part of a comprehensive range of competition racing patterns which are used in events around the world.
The manufacturer uses the proven technology findings to create, adapted and further develop to its everyday portfolios, taking learnings ‘from the racetrack to the streets’ in tyres such as the ultra-high performance GitiSportS2 and high performance GitiSynergyH2.
Full race support is always provided by Giti Tire’s leading European technical team, which this year will consist of Lennart Lindstrom, Technical Director, Sebastian Bell, Quality Manager OEM and Maikel Follon, Technical Field Engineer.
The Giti team will also be hosting a large customer event near trackside with distributors and their customers, giving attendees the chance to get up close and personal with the race.
Importantly the 51st ADAC TotalEnergies 24hr Nürburgring endurance race, which runs from May 18th – 21st, also marks the first major global competition for Giti Tire and Sparco®, the world’s leading manufacturers of motorsport safety systems and racing equipment.
Announced in March, the co-branding agreement cover several areas includes clothing, safety and gaming equipment and the Giti – Powered by Sparco® slogan will be prominent the weekend.
Stefan Brohs, Marketing Director – Europe for Giti Tire, said: “This is going to be a huge weekend for Giti Tire Motorsport, the Girls Only team are in tremendous shape, the technical support is raring to go, and our amazing partnership with Sparco® will be revealed for every viewer, either at the circuit or online.
“We have a full communication strategy for the entire weekend and are fully prepared to take the sheer thrills and excitement of the Nürburgring 24-hour race into people’s homes, all the while with the Giti name prominent throughout.
“After the weekend the work doesn’t stop there, everything we have learnt from the motorsporttyres will be taken into our European R&D Centre in Hannover, Germany and shared with the other R&D Centres worldwide with the findings taken from ‘the racetrack to the streets’.
“It is only once you have tested your products in the toughest possible racing conditions that you can assess where development needs to move to make your everyday portfolio even better,” he concludes.
