Continental Invites Motorists To Free Tyre Tests

As Partner in Excellence at Mercedes-Benz World, Continental Tyres will once again be hosting free all-season tyre demonstrations. The German tyre manufacturer will offer the free demonstrations as part of its commitment to road safety.

Continental Tyres have not been short of test success, claiming ‘Product of the Year’ at the Auto Express Product Awards 2019.  This followed an industry first by winning all three Auto Express’ tyre tests in 2018, establishing Continental as the benchmark brand when it comes to the safest tyre choice across any season.

Continental will provide the free driving experience in two cars to demonstrate the differences in braking distances between summer and all season tyres on a simulated wintry road. The AllSeasonContact, Continental’s first all-season tyre for Europe, is ideally suited to the UK’s milder winter climate.  During the October all-season tyre demonstrations, over 120 motorists experienced first-hand the difference between summer and all-season tyres. As a result of the demonstration, 94% of the participants concluded they would now consider using all-season tyres over summer tyres moving on.

The AllSeasonContact has combined elements of both Continental’s premium summer and winter tyres to create the ideal tyre for all year-round use. The main feature of the tyre is the Cool Chili compound which can also be found in the equally award-winning WinterContact TS 860. Cool Chili technology provides flexibility in wintry conditions, improving braking performance and providing excellent grip on the UK’s cold wet roads.

Laura Johnston, Brand Manager at Continental Tyres, said “Following on from the success of the October all-season tyre demonstrations, we are pleased to continue the free tyre tests this Christmas holiday. These tests give drivers a unique chance to see the impact tyre choice has on the performance of their vehicle.”

The demonstrations will take place from Saturday 28th December 2019 – Saturday 4th January 2020 and last 20 minutes per session. There is no need to book – just turn up on the day between the hours of 11:00-13:00, subject to availability.
